David Reid you may have know as the grey haired fella that rode
the Triumph Rocket III
REID, David Elwood

REID, David Elwood - 63, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at home November 1, 2005, after a courageous
battle with cancer. Born in Sunnyside, NL, he was the oldest son of the late Grace (Sheppard) and Levi Reid. He is
survived by his loving wife, Lisa (Smith) and their daughter, Grace; his children, Kenneth, Victoria Madsen and
Michael; grandchildren, Reid, Bethany and Caris Madsen; sisters, Barbara (Don Smith), Linda April; brother, Rex.
David was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy before entering into the labour relations industry. He was a
labour relations negotiator for over 25 years. David was a member of the Nova Scotia Labour Board. He was
well-respected by his peers and colleagues. David was an avid boater for many years, boating was his true
passion. He also enjoyed motorcycling, scuba diving and RVing. David was a proud member of the Christian
Motorcycle Association. He lived a very full and active life, always living in the moment. Arrangements are entrusted
to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4, 7-9 p.m.
Friday.
A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 6, in The Salvation Army Halifax Citadel
Community Church, Major Brian Peddle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory
to the Canadian Cancer Society, Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII, or The Salvation Army. On-line condolences may
